Profile: Johnny Coombes is better known as one half the DJ/Producer duo Jack 'n' Daniels Influenced by the boom in the House music scene at the beginning of the early 90’s, Johnny learnt his trade quickly and soon found his first regular gig...guesting for Miss Moneypenny’s tours @ House of Windsor. After a short while he collaborated with a long time friend & DJ, Danny Allsopp, to form Jack N Daniels. During their time together he graced the decks at most of the major venues in the UK including; Ministry of Sound, The Cross, Miss Moneypennys, Turnmills, Garage City, L'America and Pacha to name but a few. Their unique musical style also saw them take their talents as afar a field as Poland & Russia. Natural progression also saw them make their transition into production with the intent of adding their own distinct sound and style to the scene. A Number of productions followed and eventually saw them signed to Soulfuric Recordings, with a track called 'Wanted feat Krysten Cummings'. There were also a number of other tracks, such as remixes of Rawsoul Orchestra’s ‘Been Robbed’, Loleatta Holloway's 'Hit N Run', Aretha Franklin's 'Pride a Deeper Love', an update to the classic Sounds of Blackness 'The Pressure' and 'Saxy Groove'. The most recent release was on Kidology. Titled 'Make it Loud', it featured the vocal talents of Laura Vane and it was selected for the first MoS Housexy mix compilation. The start of 2007 saw Johnny pursue a solo venture and he was soon rewarded by winning a national KinkyMalinki/iDJ Mag competition for which he flew to Dubai and played for KinkyMalinki at Zinc. He can now be seen playing as a resident DJ for So?, Vanilla Bar/Windsor and Essence/Kingston.
